WELCOME TO "SUTTON ESTATE"

Sutton Estate is set on 27 acres of beautiful nature walks and arguably as close to the wineries and concerts as you could get. Central in the Hunter Valley, the property offers the best spot to get to concerts, wineries, restaurants and the Food and Wine Trail. Want your whole holiday covered? We offer accommodation, electric bike hire for wine tours and Wine Escape Room. We are in central Pokolbin and rated 5 stars on location!

We are at the centre of the Hunter Valley with a cellar door directly next door, 7 wineries directly on our road and the concerts just one street away makes this your ideal holiday or getaway.

The stately driveway sets the scene as private and tranquil setting prepares you for a relaxing holiday and to enjoy the local vineyards and entertainment.

Outside you will find the pristine pool with deck chairs or go for a walk where you will find the path that runs around the 27acres of amazing scenery and includes a large Dam, Rainforest and wineries views. The property is located 3.3kms to Bimbadgen estate or an extra 2.3kms to Hope Estate making it a perfect position if your going to the concerts.

We love animals here and they can be patted if you like or not, it is up to you. We have a horse Melody, chickens, and a lovely Border Collie, Kale who is very friendly and loves guests.

Full Breakfast is included which is supplied to have at your leisure and pod coffee machine also included. You will find in your private fridge, milk, butter and bacon. In your hamper basket you will find eggs, muesli, toast ( plain and raisin toast), sugar, salt and pepper and sauces. You can either cook in the kitchen or on the back verandah on the BBQ which is very easily operated. (operating instructions are in the black Sutton Estate book).

There is many places for wine tasting along our road, which incorporates many of the best wineries in the area along the Around Hermitage Food and Wine Trail.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Prior to booking Degen Estate, first confirm your reasons for wanting to stay. Any reasons, other than holiday accommodation, for example birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, functions, corporate events, retreats and reunions are not permitted without specific owner approval prior to you booking being accepted. The property has an exclusive caterer, Hunter Concierge, and no other catering provider will be permitted to cater to guests.

Located high above the surrounding vineyards with sweeping views across the Brokenback Range, the 54 acre estate of Degen Wines is privately set in the beating heart of the Hunter Valley wine country.

Degen Estate features designer interiors throughout the large open-plan house, with five bedrooms as well as two self-contained cottages, each with two bedrooms. The Estate offers 9 spacious bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms comfortably accommodating up to 20 guests.

The main house directly overlooks the vineyard of Degen Wines and is set amongst manicured lawns, an established fruit orchard and native trees. Perfect for entertaining, enjoy the wide paved verandahs, BBQ area and travertine pool terrace which leads to the stunning swimming pool. On the western side, the inviting Summer House with its deep lounges and its’ own private deck is perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets. The living room features comfortable leather lounges and is perfect for relaxing with a book or watching your favourite film on the widescreen TV. The fully equipped contemporary galley-style kitchen has European appliances, stone benchtops and everything you would need to cater for your large group. The huge custom-made 4.5m long dining table dominates the room and brings everyone together making every meal a special occasion.

The accompanying self-contained cottages each have two bedrooms and feature luxury bedding, a modern bathroom, kitchen and open living space spilling out to an open verandah with BBQ and private views of the vineyards.

You will only be moments to surrounding vineyards and concert venues such as Bimbadgen Estate and Hope Estate, The Vintage Golf Resort and within five minutes of the Hunter Expressway.

Your first wine tasting of course is just a short walk away at the charming cellar door of Degen Wines.

Please note that this property is NOT pet friendly.

Please note, Degen Estate has exterior security cameras to monitor the exterior of the home only for the protection of the property. Security cameras are commonplace at many of our rural properties. Footage is private and remains the property of the owner, and will only be used for insurance liability reasons, to monitor occupancy and other policies noted in our Terms & Conditions. They, in no way, are there to infringe upon the expectation of privacy of guests in these exterior areas. To disable or obscure the cameras is prohibited and may result in loss of security deposit or eviction.

Degen Estate has two foldaway beds available for the main house only to take accommodation numbers to 20 if required and can only be made up in the ensuite rooms of the main house (not the master bedroom)

TARIFF
Weekend – minimum 2 nights, for up to 18 guests is $3060 per night (Use of house and two cottage – 9 bedrooms) (Thu-Fri, Fri-Sat, or Sat-Sun)
Midweek – minimum 2 nights, for up to 18 guests is $2295 per night (Use of house and two cottage – 9 bedrooms) (Mon-Tues-Wed)
Additional adults above the minimum of 18 are charged at $100 per person per night.
Additional children above the minimum of 18 are charged at $60 per child per night.
Infants under 2 years free of charge.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

Please note if Sunday checkin then please add $500 weekend cleaning charge

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $2000.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre- authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 – 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

CATERING and IN HOUSE CHEFS
All in-house chefs and caterers to Degen Estate are exclusively provided and managed by our partners Hunter Concierge on-site.

NOTES
Weekend Public Holiday bookings must be a minimum 3 night stay at full weekend rate.
Easter, Christmas and New Year are a 3-4 night stay and charged at full weekend rate.
Concerts weekends in the Hunter Valley do have a set minimum to stay and may attract a surcharge

Woolshed Hill

The Residence is the namesake building on this site and has been established from the original Woolshed.

This house features a beautiful wrap around veranda on the top level with a large kitchen and shared living and dining space.

Weddings

Are you looking for a relaxed Hunter Valley Wedding Venue where you can have a garden ceremony, private reception and accommodation all in the one place?

Woolshed Hill Estate is surrounded by manicured lawns and gardens creating the perfect ceremony space. The main dining room in the Residence can host groups of up to 50 guests indoors with access to the surrounding balcony and overlooking the picturesque damn and Brokenback Ranges beyond.

For larger groups of 50 to 100 guests we have a marquee site on the lawn overlooking the golf course and surrounds. There are plenty of options for photos on the day, all in a secluded and private setting.

Woolshed Hill Estate can accommodate up to 26 guests onsite across two different houses with plenty of additional accommodation available at our sister properties in Pokolbin.

Conferences

For an intimate conference setting that offers an abundance of space and comfort, look no further than Woolshed Hill Estate.

A collection of single occupancy and twin share rooms will accommodate up to 20 guests over night in individual beds.

The estate features a private golf course, tennis court, swimming pool and vast lawns perfectly suited to a range of team building activities and break out spaces. The main dining rooms of the Residence offers a large and convenient space for meetings as well as group dining.

You can choose to cater your own group or we can arrange in house catering for your stay.

Woolshed Hill Estate is home to a fun and casual pitch and putt 9 hole golf course. The perfect way to spend an afternoon or get some practice in before heading to one of the many renowned courses in the Hunter.

Golf clubs are located on-site and available for guests of Woolshed Hill to use during their stay.

The pool is available for all guests to share during their visit to Woolshed Hill, sun lounges and a covered patio area available for those spectating.

Please note that you will need to bring your own pool towels as only bath towels are provided inside. You can collect additional towels from our main reception building on check-in if required.
